Dance for the non-specialist

Suitable for Primary Age Teachers

This session will provide training to primary teachers in curricular dance, which is required within the new Ofsted Framework.

The course will enable teachers to create a 6 week dance plan which is relevant to current topic subjects being undertaken within the year.

Training begins with looking at the benefits of dance as a form of Physical Education before moving on to dissect the topic subjects and form categories which can be formed in to a six week dance programme.

Each category will be formed to produce choreography which is relevant to the topic category, and will assist in shaping the programme as a whole. Dance vocabulary and techniques will be introduced as the training progresses, and as each method is introduced.
